These are precious little things. Bambi, the little fella you see in the photo, was a 3 point buck weighing in at 12 pounds. He managed to get all 4 of his lady friends with child. The babies were born and healthy and each night Bambi and his lady friends and finally his babies would come in the doggy door and wait for us to give them all their bottles. Now, not everyone gets to give 8 - 10 bottles to one 3 point buck, his 4 lady friends and his 4 babies.

Hey. I'm new to this mini-deer thing and I have a few questions if thats okay.
Do they get along with small dogs? Are they noisy? Do they smell? Do you have to keep them inside all the time? Even in San Diego? Any routine vaccinations? Will they eat everything in your aviary? Do you need more than one doe for every buck? Whats the normal price range for bucks and does? How much room do they need? I'm not a breeder I just think they'd be fun to have. Thanks for the info!

My muntjac deer got along fine with my dogs but my dogs were all herding dogs or self protection and they were raised to protect the critters in and around my home. The first 3 deer (1 male and 2 females) I raised right in the house. There is no odor at all - even in the litter (I just used dirt and a large pan). I got mine when they were 3 - 4 days old and had to feed them avery 2 hours - then 3 etc for several weeks. They seemed to want to hide in my closet so I put a blanket down and for several nights slept with them in the closet. Hey, they are nocturnal and I had to feed them every couple of hours and I am an animal lover. Get along with your dog - depends on the dog and how you handle it. These little fellas maybe weighed about 2 pounds when I brought them home. I don't know if a breeder will feed them out for you or not. Do you want a house pet? Mine were indoors for a year or so and then I set up a doggy door and they could go in and out. No, they won't eat anything in the aviary - that I know of. They eat hay, sweet feed, grass and leftovers from the table. Vegatables, corn, corn husks and they love the moss from the trees. Carrots etc.

Forgot some stuff. I would leave a salt block out. I am not exactly sure why I did that but the vet told me too. I also wormed them once a year. I just wormed everything (except for my children) once year in June because of all the animals. No, I didn't do the birds but dogs, goats, horses and deer etc, I did. No shots for the deer.

Muntjac deer are fairly expensive. The males can run from $800 - $1800 depending on the breeder and what you are purchasing. Sometimes you get a real good break on the male if you are buying a female. The females, I have never known to be under the $1300 - $1800 range. They are absolutely wonderful, delightful pets but can be a little complicated based on your experience or enviornment. Who is going to hand feed through weaning?

Hi i'm Bailey and I'm 11 years old and I wanted a platyupus. They only live in Australia and I can't buy one. Then I went to the zoo and saw a muntjac deer and fell in love. My mom said I could get one and we recently moved to a house in a small town and we have a very large backyard and I have a dog and 2 cats that don't fight and I have 2 hamsters and another dog with my dad. I'm very responsible when caring for animals. I would really like to buy one of your muntjacs and it is ok with my mom. What is the price you are looking for?

When you go away who takes care of them? Why are you selling them?
What is the asking price for them? Are you looking to sell them together?
It probably is easier to have one but is it better for them to be together?
What is the sex of them? Thank you.
