Guinea pigs are the best pets you could ever have! I have 4 guinea pigs and one hamster. My female just gave birth to two spunky piglets. They are the cutest and they look exactly like their dad.

Well I'm 12 years old and I have been looking for a pet that is cuddly yet fun for monthes. Puppies weren't for me because after they were grown I seemed to loose interest in them. I have a cat which recently had two kittens but cats aren't fun once they get older. We do have one dog-he is a Chow an the best dog ever but hes not what I would call my dream pet. My mom says that I am responsible and that she can trust me with a pet so i decided on a Guinea Pig. I want a long haired one but I understand that I would have to clean his/her rear and make sure to keep his/her hair brushed-maybe if its a girl i can even add bows like they do on babies an dogs! I wouldn't want to hurt my baby though. I just need to make sure that a guinea pig is perfect for me. Thank you very much.

Wallie is my guinea pig. He would not hurt a fly, he is so cute and cuddley. My guinea pig knows the word 'food'. His best friend is Daisy, my rabbit. They love each other like they are brothers.

So far I have had 2 guinea pigs. They were mother and daughter. Sadly the mother died, but sometime this week we will be getting another young (baby) guinea pig to keep our other one company. I would definitely recommend getting a guinea pig. Thay are really easy to feed and they don't take up much space. I would definitely pick guinea pigs over hamsters. And believe me, I know hamsters. At one point I had 10 hamsters at the same time. Guinea pigs are wonderful pets. They are very cuddly and VERY interactive. If you are thinking of getting a guinea pig I suggest that you get 2. They are very social animals. NEVER have 1 female and 2 males. The males will most likely end up fighting (sometimes to death) over who will get the female. Enjoy you piggy!

a guinea pig is a great pet to have and are very fragile animals and you need to know how to take care of them. it's very important to monitor their health because i just had to put to sleep my very first pig. so if your pig gets sick keep it away from the others so they won't get sick.

What fabulous little pets. However, I strongly recommend that you DON'T GET A PIGGIE FROM THE PETSTORE. Most of the time, the come in not all that great of shape, have been wrongly handled, had their cages poked at endlessly by five year olds, and otherwise hate humans. Get a pig from your a rescue society. They've been handled properly and generally come plumper and happier. Just do a google search on '(Your State Here) Guinea Pig Rescue.' Trust me, you'll find something.
