So I've had my pink toe for about a month now, I recently moved him into a new cage about a week ago and he has not eaten, just hangs out on the glass on the sides. He also hasn't made a web yet. Is this normal?

I had one as well and he wouldn't eat at all but he made a Web the second day he was in his cage. It most likely just depends on how comfor table they are.

Hi, all, I found what I think it's a Florida Chicken Turtle swimming in my salt-chlorinated pool. I'm not sure if it can get out easily so I scooped her out and put her near some plants in my yard. When I returned it was back by the side of the pool and she jumped right in again. I fear the salt chlorinated pool water may be harmful to her. I'm an animal lover/rescuer and the thought that she may die in my pool saddens me very much. Any thought/suggestions, please? Thank you!!

You can purchase them at PetsMart, for anywhere from 300$ to 500$

Don't buy from PetSmart or any other large chain pet stores. First of all they don't take care of their reptiles like they should. Second of all once they get to a certain age they just throw them away because they are harder to sell. Third of all they buy from farms who kill off the snakes who are born with traits that they see as undesirable. Buy from local breeders or look up a reptile convention somewhere near your area. Those tend to be the most reliable sources. The most helpful tool as Facebook and my experience.

I've had a pink toe for about five years and she pretty much stays in one corner all the time.  I think they find a spot they like and tend to just hang out there. It could be that at night when you aren't there to see, she's moving around the enclosure and then returns to her favorite spot.  A few times when I've gotten up in the middle of the night I've found her in other areas but during the day she's always in a big web she spun in a top corner.

On a side note, I saw a really cool insect exhibit at a museum in Philadelphia last summer, and a pink toe was among the tarantulas on display.  I mentioned to the curators that I had one too and they asked me if it was typical for them to just stay in one spot of the cage all the time as this particular spider did exactly that, so I suspect this is typical behavior.

Hi I don't know anything about scorpions, this is the most info I've ever read on the rock scorpion. But, I have a problem. I do not want them as pets, but strangely they picked me? We have found two of them (in the last two months) in our home, even another specie as well, definitely poisonous, looking at the small claws and the fat tail - this one was yellow. All I want to know is - why do they come inside? What should I do to prevent this? I have small grandchildren, and I do not want them to be stung. Can anyone help me with any ideas? Pretty please?

I would be concerned about scopions getting into the home. I would call an exterminator but I would try and find out how they are getting into the house. Is there a hole for example around a plumbing fixture. Check around the house for any entrances that they can be using and plug them up with that foam that hardens. They are not little spiders so hard to just sneak in so I would think an opening into the home.

I was just going to add that sometimes, or when I lived in Texas anyway, they would come in from the outside when it was damp out. Humid day, rainy, etc. There are ways to help control it from happening. Give an exterminator a call and they should be able to give you some tips so that they might not have to come out. Good luck! Oh, and use the internet to your advantage...there is a wealth of info. I will see if I can find anything else out for you.

This is an old remedy, but if you put cedAR chips around your home and in bedding it will deter arachnids. You can also spread rosemary and clove oil around doorframes, windows, etc. Ants and fleas hate it too.
