Bear
"”A smart little boy who is loved very much.”"

2008-07-17

Here’s what Tonya says about Bear:

"Bear is a Shih Tzu, Bichon Frise mix. He’s very playful and loves to ’steal’ socks to hide under the bed. He has to sleep on his pillow between his human mom and dad. He has 2 brothers, Cujo,a JRT, and Blue, a miniature dapple dachshund and 1 big sister Teejay, a chow. He loves to go byebye and hates when his ‘mom’ has to go to work. He’s a smart little boy who is loved very much."

Comet Goldfish

July 20th, 2008

We are busy “beefing up” the goldfish section at animal-world so I thought Id post some of the results. Comets are probably one of the most popular tropical fish types, especially for ponds. For a long time I wondered if there was actually any difference between a comet and a common goldfish. As it turns out… there is a difference which is apparent once you know what to look for!

"This hardy comet goldfish has a long flowing fins, giving it a real flare when it comes to swimming!"
7/19/2008

The Comet Goldfish is much like the common goldfish, but is a more reddish orange color and has a much longer, deeper forked tail fin!

The Comet Goldfish, also called the Comet-tail Goldfish, are a ‘reddish orange’ colored goldfish that are inexpensive and readily available. This fish was the first variety of the single-tail goldfish to be developed with a long caudal (tail) fin. It was developed in the United States from the Common Goldfish in the early 19th century, presumably by Hugo Mullert of Philadelphia who then introduced them in quantity into the market. Though they are a bit smaller goldfish than the Common Goldfish, they are every bit as durable and can be kept in either an aquarium or in an outdoor pond.

Bubble Eye Goldfish

Bubble Eye GoldfishBubble Eye Goldfish!

The Water-Bubble Eye Goldfish is a truly bizarre looking fish!

The Bubble Eye Goldfish, or Water-Bubble Eye Goldfish, is one of the most unique looking of the goldfish varieties. Rather than having the long slender body of the Common Goldfish or the Shubunkins, the Bubble Eye Goldfish is one of the more rounded or egg-shaped fancy gold fish. It is double-tailed and its body shape and size are very similar to the Celestial Goldfish, being a bit slimmer body than other egg-shaped goldfish. Also like the Celestial its eyes are upturned, though not as extreme as the Celestial.

"He loves to scratch his head on my finger, and kisses his cheeks with my nose. He walks around the yard and when he sees a basin of water he will play in it and take a bath. Everytime i got to my room and the door is closed he keeps on calling making a loud noise, and he knows when to sleep coz he sleeps inside my room. When I call his name when we are ready to sleep he will run to my room as fast as he can. When he is in front of my computer monitor he keeps playing with the cursor pointer. Deadly Mulch - Warning for Dogs

July 15th, 2008

Here is something all dog owners should be aware of! I haven’t seen a dog who would eat this stuff but I have seen them eat other odd stuff. Apparently the mulch smell is attractive to dogs who may try it out for a snack. There have been numerous cases of dogs getting sick because of it. Something you would probably never have thought about. If this video doesn’t come up (I’m having problems with it at the moment) please check it out here:

Dwarf Hotot (pronounced “Oh-Toe” or sometimes “Hoe-Toe”) Rabbit is also known as the "Eyes of the Fancy". These little rabbits are bound to catch not only the eyes of onlookers, but also their hearts. Though they are mostly all white, the thin band of black fur around their eyes give them a distinct, unique appearance. Their small size adds to their charm and practicality. They require a smaller living area than other rabbits, and are easily held in one’s hand….
