This is a BEAUTIFUL angel. It is not at all aggressive towards its tank mates, but can be tricky to feed. I am keeping 1 in a 100 litre tank for about 3 months now..... (more)  Dhritiman Datta  2008-03-08

The Herald's Angelfish looks almost like a twin to the Lemonpeel Angelfish, though not as available, and very expensive!

Herald's Angelfish, Centropyge heraldi looks almost exactly like a Lemonpeel Angelfish. but without the blue ring around the eye and gill covers. Also, Herald's angelfish is not as dependant on algae in it's diet as the Lemonpeel is.

Maintenance difficulty:
The Herald's Angelfish is moderately difficult to keep.

Maintenance:
The Herald's Angelfish survives mainly on algae so make sure and give it a good spirulina formula. It is important to feed angelfish all kinds of live, frozen, and prepared formula foods. Pygmy angelfish are known to eat mostly algae in the wild, so a diet rich in vegetable matter is essential. There are several good commercial foods available including Formula II and Angel Formula.

Habitat: Natural geographic location:
A very common fish in Central Pacific islands, it is rare in the Australian-New Guinea region.

Natural Foods:
Eats mainly algae and some small cructaceans and worms.

Social Behaviors:
Peaceful in the aquarium, a good community fish. Should also be okay in a reef as long as there is some algae to eat.

This is a BEAUTIFUL angel. It is not at all aggressive towards its tank mates, but can be tricky to feed. I am keeping 1 in a 100 litre tank for about 3 months now... still it has not touched any food. It feeds on the slime algae and the hair algae in my tank, also it eats my macro algae. It never disturbs my fire fish, clowns etc. But it should be kept in mind while keeping... Live rocks with lots of algae is a must and so is ample hangups, caves, and shady portions.
