   The Bicolor Angelfish is appropriately named because of it's brilliant blue and yellow color.

   Although the Bicolor Angelfish is a very popular fish it is not as easy to keep as many other angelfish. Make sure they are offered hiding places and a diet which includes vegetable matter, small crustaceans, and worms.

Maintenance difficulty:
   The Bicolor Angelfish is moderately difficult to keep.

Maintenance:
   It is important that you feed angelfish all kinds of live, frozen, and prepared formula foods. Pygmy angelfish are known to eat mostly algae in the wild, so a diet rich in vegetable matter is essential. There are several good commercial foods available including Formula II and Angel Formula.

Habitat: Natural geographic location:
   The Bicolor Angelfish are common in New Guinea and the Great Barrier Reef. Their range includes most of the Pacific ocean excluding Hawaii. Smaller specimens are seen at depths of 1 meter (3 ft,), while adults are generally at least 10 meters (33 ft.) deep.

Social Behaviors:
   Can be found singly, in pairs, or small groups.

Sexual differences:
   Unknown.

Light: Recommended light levels:
   No special requirements.

Breeding/Reproduction:
   Not accomplished in captivity. See Breeding Marine Fish page for a description of how they reproduce in the wild.

Temperature:
   No special requirements. Normal temperatures for marine fish lie between 75 and 79 degrees.

Length/Diameter of fish:
   Bicolor Angelfish adults can grow to 12.5 cm (5 inches).

Minimum Tank Length/Size:
   A minimum 30 gallon aquarium is recommended.

Water Movement: Weak, Moderate, Strong
   No special requirements.
